On February 27th, 2010, 125 years after the Berlin Conference inaugurated the Scramble for Africa, Black Berliners and their allies marched through the streets of the Kreuzberg neighborhood of Berlin, commemorating the end of slavery and colonialism and issuing an appeal for Germany to redress its racist past.
